Printers Row Condos and Lofts For Sale
About Printers Row
Printers Row is generally bounded by Congress Expressway to the north, Clark Street on the west side, Polk Street to the south, and State Street on the east side. Because the printing industry of the former century needed access to railway and water for its operation, two important elements of the former glory days remain just outside the district boundaries. Dearborn Station with its clock tower standing sentry is the focal point and a touchstone for finding your way around. Once the railway system became more centralized, local stations were demolished or repurposed; Dearborn Station survived. The second important feature of the printing industry that still lends character to the area is the Chicago River, which is just a few blocks to the west.
